What is Asparagus?| How Does it Grow?| Benefits|[English / Hindi]
Asparagus is a perennial veggie that may be green, white, or purple. Possible health benefits of asparagus include fighting cancers and other diseases.
Today, we name this the “king of vegetables”. But as soon as upon a time, it was simply swamped grass… So what is asparagus? Basically, we’re consuming the younger shoots of a plant that is most likely native to the Mediterranean, although that is exhausting to pin down.
Five thousand-year-old asparagus was found in historic Egyptian tombs. The historic Greeks foraged for it in moist marshy areas; and it was so fashionable with the Romans, that Emperor Augustus coined the phrase “faster than asparagus is cooked”, which meant, effectively, actually quick! Now, whereas it does not take long to cook asparagus, it does take a little bit longer to develop… Only about 5 years.
